Competitive Program
Team Phoenix offers a competitive coaching program to prepare athletes for local and national competitions. Coaching is arranged on a one on one basis for Figures, Solos, Duets and Teams.
The Competitive Training Program supplements normal club training and is designed to improve athlete technique, skill, fitness and strength to meet the demands of competition. The goal is to help the athlete cope with the added pressure of competition in a positive, encouraging environment. The training regime uses a progressive approach which adds new skill sets in a structured lesson plan. Athletes are challenged to continually improve over time, building on their increasing abilities in a focused environment. The desired outcome is that athletes embrace the challenge of competition rather than fear it and for this, planning and good preparation are key areas of Team Phoenix expertise.
Individual Classes
These sessions are individual lessons for competition swimmers or swimmers who want to work towards competition standard. The lessons are focused and at a higher intensity than squad training and progress is faster. Swimmers at the competitive level are additionally expected to do land work at home so that water time is maximised. This would include strength and flexibility exercises. Competition swimmers would normally attend multiple competitive classes per week.
