Venue

The Venue:

Kingsmead College is a private school in Johannesburg with superb facilities.

We are delighted to be working with Kingsmead College to host the event and will be providing the athletes with a super venue to compete at and enjoy the competition.

There are 2 x 25m outdoor pools - the warmup pool has a diving well but is shallower on one end 1.3m

The Competition pool is 25m x 20m x 2m.

Both pools are heated. There is under cover seating along 2 sides of the pool for spectators (length and width).

The Gymnasium complex provides ample space and facilities for teams to set up a base for routine preparation - and there are lots of grass areas for informal athlete relaxation.

There is also a fully functional canteen with a variety of hot and cold foods for lunches and snacks and a large selection of beverages.

The Costs:

Our aim is to provide maximum value by keeping costs to athletes as low as possible. We know international travel is expensive and logistically complex for clubs and parents.

We are excited to announce our partnership with Pure Travel who will be providing a single booking service for the entire competition including Flights, Accommodation, Meals and Transport.

We encourage clubs to make use of this service as it may be the most cost effective and certainly easier to manage.

  • 4*Hotel accommodation at the Rosebank Holiday Inn including Breakfast and Dinner, Transport and Awards Dinner:

    • ZAR1900 (approx USD100) per person per night sharing a double room.

    • ZAR2700 (approx USD140) per person per night single room

  • Entry Fee:

    • ZAR1600 (Approx USD85) per athlete - unlimited events

And that is your cost for the entire competition.

Officials/Judges:

Competitions cannot be run without judges and technical officials and we value and appreciate their time and dedication. We are intending to subsidize the costs for Judges and Technical officials with a discount on accommodation and meals.

Rules

The Rules

The objective of this competition is to enable all levels of athletes to enjoy the excitement and experience of a fun competition. We encourage entries from Novice to Masters to provide competition opportunities to all athletes in a safe and positive environment.

The Rules are flexible and provide coaches with options for athletes compete across age groups if required.

Novice athletes are classed as an athlete in the first 2 years of competition. However Novice athletes (ie those in first 2 years of competition) can enter Age Group categories if they wish to.

Categories are:

Novice: 10U, 12U, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters

Age Groups: 10U, 12U, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters

Events across categories: Fee Solo, Male Solo, Tech Solo, Male Tech Solo, Free Duet, Tech Duet, Mixed Free Duet, Mixed Tech Duet, Trio, Free Team, Combo

Age groups can be mixed - ie a 12U athlete could swim a duet with a Junior Athletes. Teams are open - any athlete can be part of a team - even novice.

We believe that this provides all athletes the opportunity to compete and take part and gives coaches flexibility with athlete combinations.

Experience

The Experience

We would like all the athletes and officials to have a different Artistic experience and we have put a lot of effort into providing a comfortable and well organised event with our world renowned South African hospitality and some exciting innovations.

The awards dinner promises to be a function each athlete will remember for years to come and we are looking forward to a wonderful celebration of Artistic Swimming.

We can't accurately describe what awaits - so you just have to experience it for yourselves!
